In order to receive federal student aid there are several requirements.
One of the many requirements is that you must be a US Citizen or eligible noncitizen of the US with a valid Social security Number.
If you have been granted DACA, you are not a US Citizen nor an eligible non citizen, here's why:
DACA recipients do not fit into any of the U.S. Department of Education’s narrow
categories for eligible noncitizens, and are therefore currently ineligible to receive federal financial aid. I repeat, DACA recipients are ineligible for FAFSA or any sort of Federal Financial Aid. Therefore we need to keep fighting for comprehensive immigration reform so and a Federal Dream Act that will give these DACA recipients a true chance at succeeding. Without the ability to pay for college many DACA recipients will not be able to acheive their full potential.
