Seven months after DACA was implemented, I am very surprised by how many people in our community still don't know what it is or haven't applied "just because".
There are a multitude of reasons to apply, besides the obvious benefit to yourself (driver's license, SSN, and work permit), there is a greater cause...Immigration reform!
Dreamers and immigration advocates made DACA possible, lets show them we appreciate that hard work by applying.
We need show the Country the massive number of young, bright people, before daca we were merely aliens, illegals, etc. Now we are dreamers, do'ers.
Change is happening, lets be a part of it.
I believe DACA was our guinea pig...and local advocates, churches and attorneys have stepped up to the plate and continue to do all they can to spread the word and help all eligible people. But we can't do it alone. We need your help...
Apply for DACA, then spread the word, help others by volunteering at a DACA clinic, then when immigration reform comes volunteer to help in that as well.
