This past February marked my firm's third year aniversary. It has been hard work. There have been ups and downs, but I feel very proud of having made it on my own now for three years. I don't know the percentages but I know that a large number of small businesses fail in the first couple of years. And I can only imagine that in our current economy that number increases significantly. So I can't help but feel like I've made it by having reached my three year aniversary as a solo practitioner.
Looking back on the past three years I can see that I've overcome many adversities. And as is life, I'm sure more are to come, but I am confident that I will overcome whatever comes my way both personally and professionally. I'm proud of the successes I've had thus far with my cases and look forward to those success that are yet to come. I'm thankful for all those who have put their trust and confidence in me and have allowed me to work on their cases. I'm also thankful for my colleagues in the legal field who are encouraging, friendly and more than eager to let me bounce ideas around with them, which is priceless as a solo.
