Today I went to speak with a group of about 20 migrant youth about immigration issues. Most of these youth are 18-25 years old. I was really impressed by these kids. Most are currently working 6 days a week and they attend migrant education workshops on their very limited time off. The kids took part in a class where they documented a short story about who they are, how they got here and or some other aspect of their lives. These videos were incredible to watch, in their short lives these kids have already lived through so much and they continue to have the odds stacked against them because they are in this country without status but yet they continue to persevere. I have no doubt that every one of these kids will be a great success in the near future. These kids are the reason we need immigration reform.
