I enjoy my business and what I do, I love it in fact, but I am constantly struggling to find the right balance between work and family. My daughter is 5 and for her entire life it seems I've had a multitude of things to do besides be her mom. I had her in my last year of law school, so instead of focusing solely on her I had to study for finals, then study for the bar exam, I had to work feverishly to prove myself as a new attorney, and then I decided to open my own business and I had to build it and keep it going. None of these things have come easy, they've all taken hard work and time, lots of time, time away from my family and daughter and although I'm grateful that I have been able to accomplish my dreams and thrive at my career in the mean time my daughter is growing up way too quick and I don't want her growing up resentful that mommy is always working. So this year I'm making a conscious effort to create more balance in my life by putting my mommy hat on first and above all else.
Welcome to Magnolia's Blog
In my blog I talk about personal experiences and issues that are important to me as a single working mother, a Hispanic woman, an immigration attorney and a small business owner. |
